MEDIA MARVELS with DR. ARNOLD T. BLUMBERG and Moderator Andy Hershberger

From the streets of New York City to the farthest reaches of outer space, the Marvel Universe has become a sprawling saga full of heroes and villains that are ripe for discussion. Come join Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg -  world renowned zombie expert, comic book historian, and scholar – as he discusses the themes tackled in the MCU movies, television series, and of course, the comic book source materials. With this preview of his upcoming Spring 2015 course at the University of Baltimore, Dr. Blumberg will explain how Marvel is crafting an unprecedented and impressive modern mythology.

Drawing Demos:

Drawing Word Games

(12 noon to 1 pm)

Come strengthen creativity and drawing skills with fun, interactive game! During this game, AWA’s Guest Artists Darren Soto will ask for 3 words from 3 different people in the audience, and then draw a picture using those worlds. After a few rounds, Soto will then call up 3 people from the audience to draw just as the instructor did.

Cosplay and Draw Demo

(1 pm to 2 pm)

Andrew Smart of "Call That Art" will draw from a live Cosplayer Model (or Cosplay pics). The Cosplayers will position themselves in dynamic comic poses with props and more that Andrew will draw in real time.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks and draw along as Andrew turns the room into a Super Sketch Spectacular Sunday.
